Nebraska’s season came to a close Sunday afternoon as Arizona State held off a furious late rally for an 11-8 win in an elimination game at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.
The Huskers finished the 2026 season 43-17, posting the program’s highest win total since 2005 while making the 20th NCAA regional appearance in school history.
Arizona State (39-20) seized control early, capitalizing on Nebraska miscues with four unearned runs in the third inning before adding a solo homer in the fifth and five more runs in the sixth to stretch the lead to 11-1.
Nebraska refused to go quietly.
The Huskers erupted for five runs in the seventh inning behind RBI doubles from Mac Moyer and Jeter Worthley. Nebraska added two more runs in the ninth and brought the tying run to the plate before the comeback bid ended on a lineout to right field.
Worthley led the Huskers offensively, going 3 for 5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Joshua Overbeek added a solo homer and scored twice, while Moyer drove in two runs.
