2025 MLB Draft Guide

The 2025 MLB draft begins on Sunday, July 13, in Atlanta. The two-day draft features a ton of parity with college pitching and high school shortstops dominating the class.

The Washington Nationals own the top overall pick, while the Baltimore Orioles own seven of the first 93 picks and the largest signing bonus pool allotment at just over $19 million.

Below is a guide to Baseball Prospect Journal’s in-depth 2025 MLB draft coverage.

The 2025 MLB draft marks my 11th year covering it and writing detailed stories on top draft prospects. I have written stories on 33 of this year’s top prospects. Read them all HERE.

Over the past decade, I have interviewed 580 of the top draft prospects, including four No. 1 overall picks. Multiple publications have quoted my work, including Baseball America, USA Today, MLB.com, The Arizona Republic, and The Dallas Morning News. I also have appeared on radio stations as an “MLB draft expert.”
