Wisconsin may not be known nationally as a baseball hotbed, but the state continues to produce talent for the professional ranks. The 2026 MLB draft features several intriguing prep prospects from Wisconsin who could hear their names called in July.
Here are four Wisconsin high school players to watch ahead of the 2026 MLB draft.
Dominic Santarelli, OF, St. Joseph Catholic Academy
At 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds, Dominic Santarelli has a physical frame and polished skill set that have established him as one of the top prep prospects in the Midwest for the 2026 MLB draft.
The St. Joseph Catholic Academy standout combines plus raw power with advanced plate discipline and a mature hit tool, allowing him to consistently drive the ball to all fields without sacrificing contact. His compact left-handed swing and offensive approach have drawn comparisons to Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber. Santarelli also shows improving athleticism and defensive versatility in the outfield, further strengthening his professional profile.
Santarelli is a potential third- to fourth-round selection in July’s draft.

Jace Mataczynski, SS, Hudson High School
At 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, Jace Mataczynski brings an athletic, projectable frame and a well-rounded skill set that has elevated him into early-round MLB draft consideration.
The Hudson High School shortstop features a quick, compact right-handed swing with strong barrel control and an advanced feel for hitting. While his current profile leans more toward contact than power, scouts believe added strength could unlock more offensive impact.
Defensively, Mataczynski stands out for his speed, lateral quickness and arm strength, giving him the tools to remain at shortstop long term while offering significant upside on both sides of the ball.

Tyson Grulkowski, RHP, Muskego High School
At 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, Tyson Grulkowski has the size, power arsenal and durability scouts covet in a potential professional starter, positioning him as a projected top-seven-round pick in July’s MLB draft.
The Muskego High School right-hander works from a deceptive low three-quarters arm slot and features a fastball that has reached 95 mph, along with a sharp slider and an improving changeup. Grulkowski attacks the strike zone with a clean, repeatable delivery, and his physical frame and expanding pitch mix give him significant long-term upside on the mound.

Jack Brenner, C, Fond du Lac High School
At 6-foot and 180 pounds, Jack Brenner is a potential top-seven-round prospect in the 2026 MLB draft because of his polished offensive approach and developing defensive skill set behind the plate.
The right-handed hitter features advanced contact ability with a clean, direct swing that consistently produces line drives to the middle of the field. He works from a narrow setup with a short stride and shows a mature feel for the barrel.
